The Certificate Programme in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion - Visual Impairment is a comprehensive Programme designed to equip aspiring educators and professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to support early childhood special education, focusing specifically on visual impairment. It will enable the learners to promote the all round development of children with visual impairment in Early Childhood Centres, Pre-schools and Pre-primary sections and support their inclusion in educational settings. The Certificate Programme holds immense relevance in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes inclusivity and equitable education for all learners. This programme aligns with the vision of NEP (2020) to transform the educational landscape in India, ensuring that no child is left behind, regardless of their abilities. The programme is approved by The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) which ensures that the programme adheres to the highest standards of quality and professionalism. The successful candidates will be able to register with Rehabilitation Council of India under Category B.

Programme Objectives

• Develop empathy and sensitivity towards individuals with disabilities.
• Recognize the significance of early detection and prevention of Visual Impairment and providing referrals.
• Foster holistic development of children with visual impairment in all development domains during the period of early childhood.
• Understand diverse educational options and facilitate the seamless inclusion of children with disabilities within their home, school, and community.
• Adapt physical, social, and teaching-learning environments to provide optimal support for children's potential development, concept acquisition and skill enhancement.

Important Information regarding Counseling and Project Work

 The below listed RCI recognized training institutions have been identified as Work Centres that will provide offline/online counseling session for all three Theory Courses of the programme. Both the Project Work, each spanning over a period of 3 months will need to be conducted under the guidance of the faculty at these Work Centres. The learners have to be in regular physical contact with these RCI recognized training institutions to complete Project Work under the supervision of faculty assigned to them by the respective Work Centre.
